American Author and Humorist MARK TWAIN
"It all began with Adam. He was the first man to tell a joke -- or a lie. How lucky Adam was. He knew when he said a good thing, nobody had said it before. Adam was not alone in the Garden of Eden, however, and does not deserve all the credit; much is due to Eve, the first woman, and Satan, the first consultant." - Notebook, 1867

ABOUT THE PLAY
Mark Twain invites us to join him in his Conservatory for a reading of "original manuscripts" purportedly written by the world's first couple, Adam and Eve. But Twain is such an excellent storyteller, we find the Garden of Eden brought to life before our eyes!
There is Adam - a mere one-day old - quietly and carefully observing his new surroundings. And here is Eve - equally young but not at all quiet as she exuberantly embraces every new creature she finds.
And who MOST intrigues Eve? Adam, of course! But following Adam around seems to make "the poor creature nervous", so she decides to focus on meeting other creatures instead: Yes, a wolf, a tiger and a brontosaurus make wonderful playmates, but are short on conversation! So when she meets a chatty Serpent who seems to appreciate her company? Well, that's when the real adventure begins...
North Gate audiences will be the first to see "Mark Twain's ADAM AND EVE DIARIES" - which was newly adapted from Mark Twain's writings by Meredith Bean McMath.
