Mark Twain has invited us to his Conservatory for a reading of "original manuscripts" purportedly written by the world's first couple, Adam and Eve. But Twain is such an excellent storyteller, we find the Garden of Eden has been brought to life before our eyes! Here stands Adam - a mere one-day old - quietly and carefully observing his new surroundings. And near to him we find Eve - equally young... but not at all quiet. Eve exuberantly embraces every new creature she finds, and which creature does she find MOST intriguing? Adam, of course!
But following Adam around seems to make "the poor creature nervous", so Eve reluctantly focuses on meeting the other creatures instead. She's delighted to learn that a wolf, a tiger and a brontosaurus make wonderful playmates, but they're still a bit short on conversation. So when Eve meets a chatty Serpent who seems to appreciate her company? Well, that's when the real adventure begins...
Of all the themes found in Mark Twain's brilliant books and essays, only one theme reads like a romantic comedy - and those are his tales of Adam and Eve. Seen through Adam and Eve's eyes, Twain frees us to explore the curious, crazy nature of love and relationships. And our Dinner Theatre audiences will be the first to view "Mark Twain's ADAM AND EVE DIARIES" - which was newly adapted from Twain's writings by award-winning playwright Meredith Bean McMath.
